Our pilot plant project in the Browns Range is in the final construction stages. As such we are looking to now build our operations team. We are currently seeking to hire a Metallurgical Technician who will be responsible for the coordinating the day to day operations of the Metallurgical Laboratory.
- Responsible for ensuring daily, weekly & monthly metallurgical production reporting is provided on time at a high and accurate standard
- Provide continual support to processing team to ensure best processing practise is achieved, challenged and continuously optimised.
- Liaise with the metallurgical & analytical laboratories to provide support and focus on the combined business targets
- Prepare and undertake sampling and laboratory for process monitoring
- Prepare process plant samples for metallurgical testing and analysis
- Monitor performance of the assigned area and identify and solve process problems in a timely manner to minimise impact on the processing plant performance
Relevant experience or a Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical or Process Engineering or related discipline
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 2 years Previous work in mining industry and on site
- Previous experience operating semi-autonomously in a remote environment
- Experience with Mineral Process testing, design & pilot scale testing is highly desirable
- Self-motivated and reliant
- Attention to detail
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Knowledge of MS Access or SQL database is preferred
- Understanding of policies and procedures
- Understanding of safety in the workplace
- Cultural sensitivity and experience working with indigenous groups
LOCATION & ROSTER
Position is based in Browns Range Pilot Plant Project, Western Australia. The position is required to work on a rotating shift basis. Roster is 15 days on 6 days off.
Point of Hire is Perth.
