Boulder Ridge

Boulder Ridge is located on a NTU owned tenement (EL29594) in the Tanami region of the Northern Territory, about 100km south east of the Browns Range Project.

It is part of a tenement package covering the NT portion of the Browns Range Dome and extends southward toward the Tanami Gold mine. The tenements are contiguous with the Browns Range HRE project tenements.
Historical exploration activity at Boulder Ridge in the 1970s and 1980s identified high grades of total rare earth oxides (TREO) from rock chip samples. Work conducted by Northern Minerals since 2013 has confirmed the high grades with rock chip assays of up to 12% TREO and the confirmation of xenotime mineralisation.

Since 2013 Northern Minerals has conducted airborne and ground geophysical surveys,  geological mapping, rock chip and soil sampling, and portable XRF surveys. The results of the rock chip sampling included some outstanding, high-grade assay results of greater than 12% TREO. They also featured a dominance of heavy rare earths (HREs), with up to 99% of the Total Rare Earth Oxide (TREO) being high value HRE.

The results to date reinforce the significant exploration potential of the Browns Range and Tanami regions which remain largely untested for xenotime-hosted HRE mineralisation. Further work will be focused on drill testing the initial targets at Boulder Ridge as well as continuing to define additional new drill targets.

Competent persons statement

The information in this report that relates to Exploration Results for the Boulder Ridge Project is based on information compiled by Mr Robin Wilson, a full-time employee of Northern Minerals, a Competent Person, who is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Robin Wilson has sufficient experience which is relevant to the style of mineralisation and type of deposit under consideration and to the activity which he is undertaking to qualify as a Competent Person as defined in the 2012 Edition of the “Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves”. Mr Wilson consents to the inclusion in the report of the matters based on his information in the form and context in which it appears.
